Clinical Manager

Mira Miller is a registered Occupational Therapist and Canadian Certified Life Care Planner. She graduated from the Occupational Therapy program at the University of Western Ontario in 1996. Since graduation, Mira has worked with individuals with permanent disabilities to ensure they have opportunity to attain their maximum level of functioning in a meaningful and productive manner. Mira’s career has focused on working with clients with traumatic/acquired brain injuries and persistent psychiatric diagnosis across the lifespan as an occupational therapist, case manager and eventually transitioning exclusively to a life care planning role. Over the past 15 years, Mira has been retained to address complex situations across Canada and enjoys the challenge of developing solutions for remote, underserviced regions. Mira has delivered testimony as an expert witness in the capacity of a Life Care Planner as well as an Occupational Therapist. She has served as a joint expert on numerous occasions and collaborated with the United Nations Human Rights Committee to address individual needs that resulted from human rights violations. Mira has assisted with the resolution of complex family and estate disputes through the identification of future family and care needs and the development of pragmatic solutions. Mira is the Clinical Manager at CBA and remains actively engaged in clinical issues, continuing education and the peer review process.

Mira is strongly committed to continuing her education to ensure foundational knowledge pertinent to her professional work remains current and relevant. She has completed a post-graduate certificate program in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and a Master of Education in Social Justice Education focused on Indigenous Health and Educational Policy post-reconciliation. Mira is currently enrolled in a Doctoral Program in Curriculum & Pedagogy at OISE where she is utilizing an occupational therapy model as the basis of her research to demonstrate how public perceptions of different communities affects their access to health, education and social services and the resulting impact on their social determinants of health. As a result of her commitment to research and lifelong learning, Mira has been involved in multiple research projects and has published and presented her work locally, nationally and internationally over the past 30 years.

Outside of work, Mira enjoys exploring the world and chasing dreams while creatively photographing her adventures. While at home, she enjoys gardening, reading and craft projects. Mira is an accomplished triathlete, competitive swimmer and basketball player. Her favourite pastime is enjoying life with her friends and children.
