January 11, 2021 – CBA continues to monitor recommendations and directives outlined by the federal and provincial government, public health, and professional regulatory bodies to ensure we are able to minimize disruption of our work without compromising the health and safety of our consultants and clients. Working alongside referral sources, we remain committed to ensuring your needs are met in accordance with current guidelines.
While the use of a remote service model continues to be recommended to prevent contracting and spreading COVID-19, regulatory bodies have recognized the importance of, and need for in-person visits when the anticipated benefits of service outweigh the risks to the client, their family, and the healthcare professional. CBA consultants are utilizing a decision making process which considers the needs and risks of each situation to determine which assessments should and can be completed in- person without compromising client, family member, or consultant safety. When recommended criteria cannot be met, telephone and/or video assessments will continue to be utilized until further directions are provided by the appropriate regulatory bodies.
In-person assessments will adhere to the recommendations for using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), physical distancing, and handwashing/sanitizing techniques. A screening questionnaire will be completed at the time of booking the assessment as well as on the day of the assessment to minimize associated risks of in- person interactions. As always, the details surrounding our assessment process will be clearly stated in each report.
Should you have any questions or concerns about our operating practices during this time or wish to discuss a specific situation which requires additional attention, please do not hesitate to contact us.
